Description
Manu Berry
Manu Berry works with writers and scientists as well as in his own practice to convey ideas and feelings about ecological change in a wide range of print and graphic forms. This work comes from a collaboration with the poet Richard Reeve, that explores how non-humans and humans know and inhabit the same worlds. The Pukeko, who inhabits the same arterial routes that the writer of the poem is driving through, makes its own terms with this environment, its robust yet vibrant life visible, vulnerable yet resilient. Reduction woodblock prints are printed in colour sequences until only the final lines are left standing on the block: they are therefore limited editions and precious records of the printmaker’s art.
